Dana Legawiec (she/her) is a professional theatre artist, teaching artist, educator, and facilitator based in Maine. She draws upon three decades as a theatre maker and performer to facilitate embodied arts experiences that celebrate individuality within collaboration while fostering deep connection to place. Dana is a certified facilitator of Liz Lerman’s Critical Response Process, which she adapts for educational settings, in community-building and creative placemaking, and healthcare. Dana was named a Creative Community Fellow by National Arts Strategies for her work making theatre with children in rural Maine. Dana is currently collaborating with playwright Bess Welden on The Death Wings Project, a touring multimedia work that offers community workshops and performance to explore rituals of grief.
